Empowerment Leadership: Unleashing Your Potential for Success as a leader
“Leaders become great not because of their power. But because of their ability to empower others.”
John C. Maxwell
Great leaders are not born, they are made. They are made by the choices they make, the actions they take, and the lessons they learn.
If you want to be a leader, here are a few things you need to do:
-
Set a clear vision. A clear vision helps align everyone within the team or organization towards a common goal. It provides a shared understanding of the purpose and direction, ensuring that everyone is working towards the same objectives.
-
Communicate your vision. Leaders can effectively articulate the vision to their team members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties, ensuring everyone understands the direction and purpose.
-
Empower others. Don’t try to do everything yourself. Delegate tasks and empower others to take ownership of their work.
-
Set Priorities. If you want to be successful as a person and a leader, you must make choices. You must prioritise. You cannot have it all. No one can.
-
Be willing to learn. The world is constantly changing, so you need to be willing to learn new things and adapt to new challenges.
-
Give People Hope. Do you wonder why nobody stays in your company or church for very long? Perhaps there is not much hope for the future. Perhaps they cannot see good things in store for them in the future. As a leader, Make promises and keep them and also Show positive examples that inspire hope.
If you can do these things, you will be well on your way to becoming a great leader.
